I’m beginning an MSc in Human and Biological Robotics at Imperial College London. Before that I studied Mechanical Engineering with a CS minor (James Scholar Honors) at UIUC, where I researched human-robot interaction at the Human Dynamics and Controls Lab under Prof. Hsiao-Wecksler.

My research there focused on torso-driven navigation and new ways of getting control signals from human motion, sensor validation pipelines for inertial measurement units, and simulation environments for evaluating human-in-the-loop control. Outside the lab I build things in SystemVerilog on FPGAs and spend too much time thinking about gearbox geometry.

My work sits between physical hardware and robot simulation — mechanisms and sensing systems on one side, learned control and state estimation on the other, and the contols pipelines that make the two work together. That’s the area I want to keep working in: robots that act in the physical world, and the models that let them do it well.
